With the exception of our bycast leather and vegan leather fabrics, all our covers should be washed using a gentle cycle with a mild laundry detergent. Zip up the cushion covers before washing to prevent them from getting tangled and pulled. More concentrated stains might require spot-cleaning using a dilute solution of dish soap first before machine washing.

It's really important to check that your laundry detergent does not contain any bleaching agents, which includes both chlorine and oxygen-based bleaches. To find out if your detergent contains these agents, check the cleaning product's ingredients list. If it contains any of these substances listed below (not exhaustive), avoid using the product when washing the sofa covers:

  • Ingredients ending with -hypochlorite
  • Ingredients ending with -percarbonate
  • Hydrogen peroxide or ingredients ending with -peroxide

There might be other bleaching agents present in your laundry detergent not listed above. When in doubt, it's best to contact the laundry detergent manufacturers to clarify if they contain any agents that might not be suitable to use when washing your sofa covers.

Do not tumble- or machine-dry the covers or you'll risk shrinking the covers permanently in very unpredictable ways. We only recommend line or drip drying the covers, but be careful not to dry the covers under direct sunlight as the UV rays can cause the covers to fade.

For bycast leather and vegan leather fabrics, wiping the covers with a soft, damp cloth followed by air-drying would be enough to clean them. If needed, you can spot clean tougher stains using a dilute solution of dish soap followed by wiping down with a damp cloth to ensure no detergent residue remains. Do not apply any commercial leather cleaning agents, especially those containing organic solvents or oils as they might damage the protective layer on the fabric.
