Firstly, decide the colour hue you like; if you like a brown colour, then make sure you get all the swatches in a similar shade. If you want grey, then choose all the greys there are – nothing is more confusing than having to decide between multiple colour shades in multiple textures.
Naturally, the tougher type textiles would be woven in a tighter and coarser type of yarns. And will inevitably reduce the comfort level of that particular fabric.
We'd recommend Kino for cats, as they love to scratch - the KINO line is a commercial upholstery fabric, it's super tough with an abrasion rating of more than 50,000 rubs. Definitely more suitable than the natural fabrics because of this. Also we've been told by our customers that our Kino fabrics (especially the Kino Charcoal) are quite resistant to pet hair, so there's a bonus :)
We also heard from a happy customer that the Rouge velvet is cat-proof as well, since kitty doesn't like the smooth feeling of the velvet.
For those without pets and prefer to sacrifice a little bit of durability in place of comfort, the Nomad has a very good balance of both.
The ones that are really comfortable and premium would be the Rouge, Shire, Linens and Leather ranges.

Remember to order the colours that you like in different textures.
Once you have the swatches in your hand, you’ll need to decide exactly on texture, or basically how tough or how comfortable your slipcover should be, so remember to rub them against your pets, smear peanut butter over it or just do whatever you think best describes your typical living environment.
